Abigail Woods
With over 15 years of experience in the fresh produce and FMCG industries, I have developed a strong foundation in quality management, food safety, administration, procurement, logistics, and team leadership. My career has been dedicated to implementing quality assurance systems, driving compliance with food safety standards to ensure efficiency and excellence in fresh vegetable production, optimising supply chains, and logistics.
As Head of Technical, Quality, and Administration at Boratto Farms, I played a pivotal role in transforming the company’s quality systems from a paper-based approach to an advanced electronic system. This transition streamlined document control, improved training effectiveness, and enhanced compliance with Freshcare and Fair Farms accreditations. Additionally, I implemented a comprehensive HR framework, developed policies and procedures, and led workplace training initiatives, fostering a strong culture of food safety and operational efficiency.
My work in workplace health and safety (WHS) has been instrumental in ensuring legal compliance and best practices within the industry. I have successfully managed and monitored the PALM scheme, overseen food safety programs, and introduced Zero Harm initiatives to prioritize employee well-being. Notably, my efforts in quality management have led to three consecutive Freshcare audits without corrective actions, demonstrating my commitment to excellence.
Prior to Boratto Farms, I spent over a decade at PMFresh, advancing from Purchasing Officer to Procurement and Planning Manager. In this role, I managed supplier relationships, negotiated contracts, and ensured the seamless procurement of fresh vegetables to maintain production efficiency. My ability to enhance supplier performance, introduce new raw materials, and optimize inventory management contributed to overall cost savings and product quality improvements.
I am passionate about continuous improvement and industry collaboration, I maintain strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and industry bodies. I am dedicated to food safety, driving innovation within a business and helping achieve operational success in the fresh vegetable sector.
